MAYOR: Korry L. Soper

Korry L. Soper was born January 1, 1965, in Panguitch, Utah. He is married to Karen A. Soper. Korry graduated from Utah State University in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, and minor in Business Administration. Korry and his family have lived in Manti since 1998. He is a Farm Loan Manager for the USDA, Farm Service Agency. His area of responsibility covers Sanpete, Sevier, Piute and Wayne Counties.

Prior to being Mayor, Korry served as a Manti City Council member for eight years. He has been involved as a volunteer fireman on the Manti Fire Department and was the project manager for the new Manti Fire Station. He has served on the Manti City 4th of July committee, the Lighted Christmas Parade committee and is currently the Treasurer for the Sanpete County Mayors and Commissioners Association. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, boating and traveling.

As your Mayor, my primary focus is a positive and thoughtful effort to move Manti forward with managed growth and economic progress. Commercial development, economic growth and recreational activities in Manti should be planned with foresight and managed thoughtfully so that they will not detract from our way of life. I want our children to have an opportunity to live and prosper in this community while maintaining our unique character and Pioneer heritage. I welcome volunteers who want to improve their city and seek input from citizens who have concerns with the issues that affect them and their hometown.
